- China Mobile recently unveiled its plan to deploy trial networks leveraging 4G TD-LTE (Time Division-Long Term Evolution) technology in selected cities in 2010, Sohu News reported on September 24. Further details were not yet revealed though. In addition, the company reportedly will propose draft TD-LTE equipment regulations. Currently, the company is participating in the ongoing LTE trial runs held by Vodafone and Verizon Wireless. The trial runs have been carried out since February 2008.

- Chinese telecom equipment manufacturer Potevio recently announced that Italian MyWave Electronics SpA has officially launched Europe's first TD-SCDMA commercial network - leveraging Potevio's wireless network equipment, HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) data cards, and customized solutions - in Italy, Chinanews.com reported on September 25. The network construction was completed on September 12. Meanwhile, the negotiation for the second-phase network construction is currently underway.
